Adult Volunteer Opportunities (18 years and older):
Thank you for your interest in our Adult Volunteer Program. Our volunteers are a vital part of our mission and help our staff provide excellent care and service for our two and four legged program participants. We have several volunteer paths that depend on your area of interest and horse experience. We are most in need of volunteers for:
* Barn chores
* Pasture cleaning
* Grounds maintenance
Please know that our volunteers do NOT ride horses; our horses get plenty of exercise and schooling by our paid staff and lesson students.
Youth Volunteer Program:
Youth 15 to 17 years of age are eligible to participate in our Youth Volunteer Program which is primarily barn chores and pasture cleaning. Youth volunteers work under the direction of one of our staff members but must have basic horse safety skills and be able to work independently. Please know that our volunteers do NOT ride horses; our horses get plenty of exercise and schooling by our paid staff and lesson students.
Best way to start your Volunteer experience:
Participate in one of our Volunteer Day events = join a group of volunteers and staff members to complete special chores or ranch project. Often this includes pasture picking, water trough cleaning, weed pulling, and generalized barn chores. No experience required. Email your name, age, and contact information to volteam@silverbuckleranch.org with your request to be put on our mailing list OR watch our Facebook page for dates and times.
We also need with Volunteers with Horse Experience for horse tacking and lead line walking during our Rising Star lessons (Thursday evenings) and Special Camps (various dates). If interested, email your name, age, contact information and horse experience level to volteam@silverbuckleranch.org and we will schedule you for an orientation and send you application paperwork. Unfortunately we do not have the resources to train people without horse experience so please be honest about your skill/experience level.
